When life gets busy like this I am reminded of the story told by Jerry back in Kearney.
Jerry was complaining of how busy he was, no time to get his work done, no time for family, no time to volunteer, no time for golf.
Jerry's friend listened carefully and then asked to see his calendar. Jerry shared it somewhat proudly as if it were a prize or a testament to his complaints.
His friend went over each of the entries and then agreed, saying, "You are a very busy person. And I also notice that it is all your own handwriting."
Jerry told me from that time on he quit complaining about his schedule. He made more careful decisions about what he added to his calendar and what he didn't add.
When I get too busy to write, to blog, to clean my house, to spend time with the kids. I can't help but be reminded of the fact no one is adding things to my calendar but me.
I am in control of my schedule, my calendar and my life.
So I have to quit complaining and do something about it.
So while this isn't at all what I intended to blog about today, this is what came out when I began to type.
What I intended to blog about was Birthday Celebrations!
Within the past 10 days we've celebrated two 'milestone' birthdays.
Alex's 16th

and Laura's 10th.

Hard to believe!
