Blitz Build is coming!

For those of you who have been wondering why I haven't blogged lately, I have been busier than usual and out on the build site most of my days. Thanks for missing me.
I thought I would let you know a little bit about where I have been and what I have been doing.

Tomorrow... Monday morning is the start of our long awaited Builders Blitz.
We had intended for this to take place in September, but due to permit and lot development issues it was delayed.... twice.

But we finally made it!
By the week's end,
we expect to have two homes built for two families.


Pedro and Olivia have never had their own home. They have lived with Pedro's mom and brothers since their marriage. Their two children sleep in the living room. Each night the bedding is spread out and every morning it is folded and put back in the one small room reserved for their family. There is little room for toys, limited privacy, and no place to just be a family.
But soon that will change thanks to the generous donation, time and energy of so many people and especially Rich Duncan Construction.


Luz has 10 children. 2 have passed away and 1 young son still lives at home. He is nearing retirement age and in spite of working hard all his life and raising very successful children, he has never managed to achieve homeownership. He currently lives in a one bedroom apartment with his wife, young son, and elderly mother in law.
The families all converge at their father's apartment for Sunday dinners, celebrations, and holidays. They are anxious to celebrate Christmas in place that they can truly call home. We are so appreciative of Matt and Caleb of MC Northwest Construction for making Luz's dream of owning his own home a reality.

Getting the foundations ready for the two builders has been time and labor intensive.
But the hard work pays off with homeownership for these families.
