This past week I was blessed by a visit from a close friend.
It has been a long awaited visit.
Jim was supposed to have arrived in Portland over two years ago.
He was detoured by an accident in which he broke his neck.
We joke with Jim about going to extreme measures to avoid a visit to the Brown home,
but am ever so thankful that he continues to recover and has taken the time to come and visit us here in Oregon.
We had a wonderful visit catching up and reminiscing, visiting brew pubs, and walking along a very foggy beach as we escaped the heat in the valley.
We saw a few sights but mostly enjoyed the company of one another.
One thing I didn't do was take photos.
I am one that often has a camera in hand to 'capture the memories'.
But it seems that when I am with Jim, I am too busy living in the moment.
I don't think much about 'capturing it'.
On the way to the airport as we prepared to say our good-byes, I made it a point to 'capture the memory'. At least as much as an iPhone can.
Jim, Thank you for coming. It meant so much to us.
Be well and enjoy the next leg of your journey.
