They call Powells, the city of books. The building occupies an entire city block at 11th & Burnside.
It is like a literary MECCA.
And I am lost in it tonight.
Powell boasts one can shop over 4 million new and used books. I don't know If this includes their collection of rare books or not.
There are satelite stores at 5 other locations in the Portland area as well.
To help the customer find what they are looking for, the rooms are color coded and they give maps containing the store layout.
I have about another hour to pass the time here at Powell's while waiting for Jeff and Brad to get done with the Trailblazer game.
Hope all of you get a chance to venture this way and explore what the store has to offer someday.
