1102 miles and nearly 17 hours of driving.
But we made it to Oregon soil!
I left nearly 2 weeks ago and have spent all but 3 of the past 13 nights on a hospital fold out chair/bed or the floor
Tonight this queen size Super 8 bed feels wonderful!

Now I am unwinding, watching Harry Met Sally and waiting for Jeff to call after the Blazer game.
For the most part the drive went well, alex got more highway experience, we saw a gorgeous sunset

Outside of a 30 minute delay in Pine Bluff Wyoming while some enormous, oversized, contraption exited the interstate our travels went well.
Tomorrow our drive home should be quite manageable.
I'll get home just in time to unpack, re-pack and head to the coast for Pelican Pub's Brewers Dinner on Saturday.
Throughout my days and my nights my mind is continually drawn back to my dad. It was a very difficult, emotional goodbye.
The news from Wichita is good so far.
Dad is better.
No fever since they started steroids.
We are hoping this is the answer.
Time will tell.
