Yesterday I took Lindsey to the coast.
Naturally I found some really cool, and quite large rocks and sticks.
It was one of those perfect days with blue skies, puffy white clouds, tons of sun and not much wind.
We stopped at one of her favorite places, Boiler Bay and then drove 'top-down' up the coast to my favorite place.
We enjoyed the conversation, the wind in our hair, the sun on our face and Frank crooning away on the radio.
A little known fact about Lindsey (and me) is we know most all the words to the old Frank Sinatra tunes.
And it makes us laugh to sing along with them.
Lindsey needed a sunny day to make her smile and forget her troubles.
And I needed to share that day with her.
Days like this make me think perhaps I'm not unemployed and useless.
Days like this help me feel more confident that being available and being a mom is enough.
