Summer Adventure Trek with the 'little' girls.

Being unemployed has given me opportunities to spend time with my kids that I wouldn't have otherwise. And for that I am so grateful.
It was a few months ago that I entertained the idea of taking the 'little' girls on a road trip.

This year has held a number of transitions in relation to how these 3 young ladies interact with one another and I hoped spending time together would benefit all of them.  Providing they don't kill each other!

My first intent was to hit as many National Parks between here and Nebraska as possible, visit family, and give them some bonding time.  But after looking at our time frame, and more importantly our budget, I have decided to not hit the national parks along the way and instead include stops in Omaha, NE, Mission, KS, Wichita, KS, Ark City KS, and possibly Denver, CO.

We are looking forward to the trip and having time with family & friends many of which we haven't seen in two years or so.
I remember days of old when I would load 8 kids and a dog into 'Big Blue' and head south to Wichita/Ark City, or north to go camping.
Road trips weren't exactly something I looked forward to then.
However, I am excited to spend this time with my daughters.
They have grown up so fast!
I know before I turn around they will be leaving home just like my older three girls.

And before the boys begin to feel left out with all this 'girl' talk;
I ask all of you to say some prayers for Jeff and Alex left at home with Thor.
Brad, we plan to see you on our adventure trek to the flat land of wind, wheat, and corn!

So here is the nearest thing I have to an itinerary:
Leaving on June 30th arriving in Kearney NE on July 2nd.
Leaving Kearney on July 6th heading to Mission, KS by way of Henry Doorly Zoo -
so Caroline can see the Pandas!
We hope to go to Worlds of Fun because these younger girls have never been to an amuzement park!
How did that happen?
How can they be this old and we never took them to ride BIG roller coasters?
Oh thats right... Jeff and I went alone! :-)
Leaving Mission around the 8th arriving in Wichita a few hours later.
July 8th through the 11th or 12th in Wichita and Ark City.
Then Head for home perhaps with a stop in Denver....

We will stay in touch and you can follow our Adventure Trek via facebook and text messages. After all, I am traveling with 3 teenage girls!
As long as they have a 1 or 2 bar signal, I am confident you will be able to contact us.
