1500 miles

There is song titled 1500 miles and it's running through my head tonight as I finish up the first leg of our adventure trek to Nebraska & Kansas.

I keep hearing the song lyrics,
1500 miles just to see your smile,
Just to hold your hand.
I listened to this song nearly 2 years ago while traveling to Kearney with Lindsey just after the birth of my second grandson, Zack.
It's hard to believe it has been 2 years already!

Now I am traveling with 3 other daughters.

I spent most of the day listening to Disney princess songs and haven't actually listened to 1500 miles.
Yet that hasn't prevented it from playing in my mind.
I guess there is something familiar that triggers the memory of the past trip and tunes that corresponded with it.

The strangest part of my day was passing my son Brad around mile marker 238 on I-84 as we head east and he makes his way west.
Such an odd & sudden, (yet exciting) turn of events has him moving to Seattle.
I know the mix of emotions he is going through as he leaves a place he has called home for so many years and starts all over half way across the country.
I also know that he is going to a beautiful part of our country and great opportunities lie ahead for him.

My daughters are hollering for lights out, so I will need to unwind and relax in the dark.

Good night!
